As they departed the Capitol for the five-week recess, House Republicans nonetheless believed they had a credible case to make for why the opposition should stay in the minority for the final two years of Trump’s presidency.

I really wonder if the “both sides bad” people online have ever had like real human conversations with some of the people materially affected by our national politics. Because when the program you rely on to feed your kids gets cut, or your neighbors start getting disappeared into unmarked vans, or you find yourself paying 30% more for food, gas, and rent than you did 18 months ago, people like that don’t tend to say “yeah but what have the dems ever done for me?”
…
Respectfully, your reply makes no sense. Donald got a second term precisely because the Dems did nothing meaningful about any of this. Hell, the two ruling parties have failed so spectacularly it’s made socialists electable.
Well yes, if you blame dems for the bad things that happen when they win, and also the bad things that happen when they lose, then your logic is sound but circular.
Not at all.
When they have power and still rule as conservatives, we hate them for the fact that they lied to us. When they are out of power and fail to oppose anything they said they would, we hate them for being collaborators.
It’s two different, but very shitty things.
