I’m sure there are right and wrong ways to apply digital learning but I also think adoption has been driven by tech companies and anyone that is starstruck by the “potential” of these devices. I can almost guarantee there were no long-term studies performed prior to sticking all kinds of screens in front of kids faces. Humans have been learning and teaching for millennia using physical mediums. It’s very foolish to think we, as a species, can suddenly shift to a new medium in a single generation with no ill effects.
