I’d agree in general, except that of my two cats one could have been an engineer were she born with opposable thumbs, the other can’t be persuaded not to drink the mopp water if left unattended for more than a minute.

Plenty of fresh water available, of course.

We have one who worked out how to open a lever action handle that had been modified to lift up, not down and his brother, who likes to beat the shit out of a water fountain (which now has to live in the bathtub)

      They are both orange

Yeah, mother cat here loves to drink from watering cans for the plants
Fresh water in her cup, but no the old stale one is more interesting…

The trick is to make the fresh water look like a puddle of stale water that she found on her own. At least that works for us !

I’m too stupid to understand how I should do that o:-)

She loves water and always comes watching me, when I open the tap

I bought one of these a few years ago. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

            https://aquapurr.com/

It plumbs directly in to a water line, like a refrigerator ice maker, and you can place it over a sink in a bathroom. Infinite fresh water on demand for your cats, with no cleaning. The cats love it.

              That looks cool, thank you

Need to check, if they have something compatible for European taps/pipes

I was one of the very early adopters, before they had all the options they have now. I needed some parts that they didn’t list, so I contacted them via email. They were extremely helpful in getting me setup with all the adapters and others parts I needed. I’m sure they would do the same for you. It’s a small family business.
