I’ve been revisiting anno 2205, infamously the ugly duckling of the Anno series of RTS games. I don’t mind so much the fact that it’s different, lacks customisation and random map generation - I’m bothered because the game is so slow to progress through on challenge settings, and it feels like a game designed just to artificially waste your time; in other anno games, you can always pull tricks to dig yourself out of economic crisis - selling off assets and surplus goods, completing quests for other parties, or taking loans. 2205 is very very confined in terms of what you can do to financially recover in the early game and forces you into a lot of military events.

Rocket League and Rust have each taken thousands and thousands of hours.

I fell in love with RL the very first weekend and bought all the DLC as it came out because I wanted to support an indie developer. I was rewarded by having the thing I loved sold to a corporation who systematically used my love against me until I could no longer tolerate it.

Rust of course decided that I wasn’t worth having as a customer anymore and cut me off along with every other Linux user.

Rust is one of my favourite games that i don’t play. I son’t think you can have fun in this game if it’s not your full time job. Last time i played was like 12 hours after a wipe and i fot gunned down as soon as i left the beach. I knew i don’t have tge capacity to play anymore, so i just wandered around. At least i tried. I couldn’t get enough hemp for a sleeping bag before dying. People who play ruat seem miserable too. The linux thing just sealed the deal.
