I hate the word migrants, it seems more dehumanizing to me than immigrants or refugees.

This part seems particularly dehumanizing:

Vivas said migrants previously died in the attempt, with 60 bodies being spotted at sea in the last year.

How hard would it be to say" 60 people were found to have lost their lives attempting to cross the sea", and try to humanize the issue.

I think this wording is purposefully dehumanizing throughout the article.
