I mean, running around and foraging is their job. They don’t have to forage anymore, but they have to keep themselves occupied, so they pick up the stuff they foraged from their food bowl, carry it all the way home in the wheel, then bury them fuck-knows-where until you clean the cage and replace the bedding and find the all the caches they hid and forgot.
I’d feel embarrassed about a hamster doing more distance than me, but the hamster doesn’t have a job to go to, or chores to do.
