Mindless worker-bees. People who can’t self-reflect. People who drown in money and their 23k is like your 0.01€. People with no intrinsic value whatsoever so they think a price-tag on a ring will impress their mate enough to say yes. Like a peacock, no pun intended.
Or people so blinded by media and ads that they just do “what everyone does”. Or a combination of all those reasons and more…
Wifey and me drown in money but I still proposed with a ring out of aluminum foil because nothing else was there at the moment 😁

Men with disposable income and a wife brought up on the declining but very much prevailing idea of a traditional Western wedding. So, a good chunk of the Western population.
Some people think that’s the way it has to be. My wife and I got a ring that we both love for about a tenth of what some of our friends and family paid. Not to mention the people that refuse to get lab grown diamonds because they want “the real thing”
Who tf pays 23k for a ring

As if anyone would ever notice. Or care.
The blood of those children mining for diamonds soaks into the stone and gives it a magical quality.
