Global gas turbine orders reached a record 38 GW in the second quarter as surging electricity demand, particularly from U.S. data centers, intensified competition for limited manufacturing capacity.

The United States accounted for half of these new turbine orders, the bank said, as demand for electricity surges with the proliferation of data centers.
