There’s a rant he has in Maps of Meaning about a dream he had.

Jordan Peterson is a terrible writer but I’ve attached the quote underneath for the morbidly curious.

      cw: deeply unpleasant

I dreamed I saw my maternal grandmother sitting by the bank of a swimming pool, that was also a river. In real life, she had been a victim of Alzheimer’s disease, and had regressed, before her death, to a semi-conscious state. In the dream, as well, she had lost her capacity for self-control. Her genital region was exposed, dimly; it had the appearance of a thick mat of hair. She was stroking herself, absent-mindedly. She walked over to me, with a handful of pubic hair, compacted into something resembling a large artist’s paint-brush. She pushed this at my face. I raised my arm, several times, to deflect her hand; finally, unwilling to hurt her, or interfere with her any farther, I let her have her way. She stroked my face with the brush, gently, and said, like a child, “isn’t it soft?” I looked at her ruined face and said, “yes, Grandma, it’s soft.

Why do all these types so clearly need a lot of therapy? I’m certainly not the least bruised peach in the can, but I also don’t go around pretending I’ve got it all figured out.

Some of these people are honestly certifiable, I mean that quite literally, and yet they’re hugely influential.

Peterson needs to go live in a nice wood cabin by a lake somewhere, maybe write a bit of poetry, do a bit of yoga and meditation. He can easily afford it.

A lot of people who go into psychology do so because they know they are themselves fucked in the head, and are also basically fundamentally arrogant yet also insecure enough to think they can become an ‘expert’ on themself, and thus by proxy, everyone else.

A kind of psuedo self aware, authoritarian narcissism.

        … I wish I didn’t know the context.

But thanks all the same! Not your fault, I did ask about something Jordan Peterson related after all. I knew it wouldn’t be good, but asked anyway.
