    20 years ago you could legitimately buy a $3 afternoon ticket to a movie.

    Now people are legitimately dropping $20-30 for a single ticket…

    Yes, gross sales will continue to go up, that is because they raise ticket price to compensate for low sales, which further depresses sales, requiring them to further raise prices.

      Spiderman made 1.6 billion in less than two weeks. That is not inflation that is a measure of its popularity.

      What ticket prices cost 20 years ago do not matter as that is not the context of this discussion. This discussion is what are people seeing now.

      The latest spiderman has made more money than every movie you listed and they are contemporaries.
