The best thing movie goers can do, is stop worshipping distributers like A24, most of “their” movies people love, were already made and winning film festivals before A24 even heard about them.
We need to start supporting the writers/directors/actors/crew who make these amazing films on shoestring budgets for almost no pay.
Not Uncle moneybags who buys it for a few million and then makes hundreds of millions back when people watch it in theaters.
Like, I’d hate to do the math for how many movies with the budget of Obsession/backrooms we could have gotten for a single Spiderman.
But large studios want a handful of movies everyone watches.
