You don’t know it’s impossible. That’s just insane to think that recognition software can tell that a person’s seatbelt is on if that there is someone at their front door with a package or a bicycle means it’s likely possible.

It literally is impossible. The only thing going to a 3d printer is a series of commands to the the various stepper motors and heating elements what to do. It would have to be capable of reversing this code to reconstruct the object being printed. A printer is not going to have enough processing power to do this if it’s even possible at all.

It doesn’t in some niche and limited capabilities. That’s like saying some hot rods don’t have to run gasoline. Sure. There are some with electric motors and they can keep up. But they have drawbacks.

It’s not a niche capability. You load the instructions onto an SD card and plug it into the printer. Every one I’ve used is capable of this and for many it’s the preferred way of operating. If you don’t know what you’re talking about just stop.

And how do you load information on that SD? Computers. Stop being a dick and acting like somewhere in the chain it can’t be checked. You won’t admit you’re wrong and it shows me you’re a fuckin idiot.

There’s no special software required to copy the files onto the SD card that would necessitate a check. You can download files that were sliced by other people, you can still use a slicer from 10 years ago and it will work just fine, you can create your own models that have never been in their database, you can build your own 3d printer from the ground up, this law is unenforcable.

And what file types does it use? What is the shell written as? There are many ways to enforce it, it’s laughable.
