It’s rude to pretend you created something that someone else did. If you don’t have any creativity of your own, you should acknowledge the person whose work you’re copying.

This person put 10 times more work into giving credit than 99.9% of posters and you’re gonna put them on blast for…not finding the first person to utter this pun?

This is the most wholesome watermark I’ve ever seen

This is an image that I made using Microsoft Paint. I have now noted so on the image itself, and I have also noted the address of the site where this Dad joke was found.

        That’s brilliant! A great response.

I had a quick look look at Puns College, but they don’t give sources, so their material is plagiarized. If you do a search on some of their output, you might be able to see where they took it from. They don’t care enough to do that themselves. If they wash it through an AI they can make it slightly different, but this doesn’t make it better, or more honest.

Thank you for that, now things make sense! 😊 I’m new to this site, and I really wasn’t sure why this was happening 🤨 I understand the person who asked if I could add an ALT text, but other than that, I was honestly wondering what the problem was 😄

You haven’t broken any laws, or rules. If I don’t like what you post I don’t have to look at it, so you are under no obligation to me, a stranger on the internet. The problem I had was not about you, just the trend. There are a lot of sites like the one you get your jokes from, that spit out AI generated content, known as slop. There are not many people who actually do this, but because it’s so easy to scrape content, they can create huge amounts quickly. Like many people, I have published work that I put a lot of effort into, on the internet. And now an AI company has sucked it up and it is being spread around as slop, a worse version of what I created. And they are burning down the planet to do this, by building gas fired power plants for their hyperscale data centers. This is what you are supporting by spreading slop around the internet. It’s not illegal. You broke no rules. It’s immoral.

Are you new to the Internet? Joke sites exactly like this have been here from the start. So has scraping. Joke books don’t give credit for puns.

I’m not sure something can be called a “trend” when it’s been happening for 2500 years
