There’s almost always connect you to a real person if you type something like “talk to a human”

So I tried to help my mother in law cancel a subscription to NFL.com because she didn’t know her account info. Tried the help number, was a verbal chat bot that went in circles and insisted no person was available. I tried buttons, insisting I couldn’t log in to cancel, and when I got sick of it and cursed it ended the call. Tried the text chat on the site listed as support which also insisted we had to log in to cancel.

Ended up having to contact the credit card to cancel the automatic payments.

Welcome to the future of automated support with no humans available.

If that doesn’t work, insulting it and telling it you’re gonna kill yourself because of its bad answers triggers a lot of warnings and filters that usually get you to a human way faster.

It’s sad we’ve reached this point.

Yeah a lot of these systems have an “escalate” plan if you start swearing or getting really angry at the bot.

I have to maintain one at work and trip the escalation flow 60% of the time trying to test.
