FDR has always been one of my favorite presidents, second maybe to Lincoln. Both were men the establishment assumed were one of them until, to their horror, they governed like they weren't. Both could trash the opposition in one breath and take the moral high ground in the next.
It should be a browser option, not per site pop-up
AFAIK there is a proposal to make that browser option a reality. There was a setting once but edge made it default on and then everyone was like “well then we gonna ignore it”.
Consent-O-Matic addon for Firefox makes it very easy. Its not perfect, but it works so well that every time it doesnt work, I sort of stare at the screen, waiting for it to do its thing, for a good 10-15 seconds, before snapping out of it and realising I need to do something.
Same. “What is this thing I am presented with, this is not the content I came here for? … Oh right, cookies.”
I installed that thing on my dad’s laptop. 8 months later he calls me up and says that theres some weird window asking him to accept something. I thought it was something worse, so put on my shoes and walked over to his place, opened the laptop and… it was a cookie prompt lol.
In his defense, it was in English and he doesnt really understand English very well. But goes to show how great consent-o-matic works, heh.
