Since when do cops clean anything?
When there’s a bloody wreck on the highway, they will often use a 2-liter of Coke to remove excess blood from the road. It’s common enough that the 2-liters are standard trunk equipment.
The acid, mainly phosphoric is used to help solubilize all the sugar. There’s also carbonic acid due to the CO2 in it.
