It’s kind of a complicated story, all these events occur within a 48 hour period:

  1. I made a comment along the lines of “today we have groups that resemble nazis and need to be armed to say they’re bad for our future too”
  2. Received a permanent ban, probably related to the word “armed”
  3. Appealed that ban
  4. Receieved a second permanent ban for “multiple violations”
  5. Appeal successful, first ban lifted.
  6. Still banned via second ban, no option to appeal.

The second ban, which appears to be referring to the first ban with “multiple violations” still stands, even with first ban’s successful appeal and lift.

So is that it? No more Reddit for me?

I used reddit for about 13 years before they shut down the Reddit is Fun app. It felt like a forced detox when it shut down but I’m now happy with Lemmy and grateful that Reddit pushed me away. It’s different than reddit. It took some getting used to, but now I’m content.
