Davis anti-transgender activist and school board candidate Beth Bourne, who drew headlines by disrobing at a 2025 Davis City Council meeting while questioning schools’ transgender policies, faces an October court date on a misdemeanor charge that she violated a court order with social media posts, Davis police said.
Bourne, the mother of a nonbinary teen, chairs the Yolo County chapter of Moms for Liberty, a self-described parental rights advocacy group, and is among the state’s most prominent voices opposing transgender rights. She is also a frequent presence at city events and school board meetings where she has protested policies related to transgender students.
