How did they get the IP? SCP has no owners to negotiate with, which is why qntm had to file the serial numbers off the concepts to make There Is No Anti-Memetics Division.
SCP is released under CC BY-SA 3.0, so from my understanding, its free to use so long as they give attribution and use the same licence. I guess that means the movie will also be released under Creative Commons whereas the book wasn’t.
the system protects whowver has the most $, presumably the srudio will pump out a movie then C&D the website like they do with backrooms stuff now
Is there, like, a thing that says if an owner can’t be established, it just becomes public domain, maybe? 🤔
Nope.
I really envisioned this as an anthology TV series.
I wonder if it’s based on that book from a year or two ago. It sold a good amount of copies and I think would be a good entre to the universe for those not in the know.
Do you mean There is No Anti-Memetics Division? I was trying to research but There is No Anti-Memetics Division was originally published 2020/2021 and I couldn’t find anything else, nonetheless something more recent.
Edit: Also, I read the article and it says it’ll be tied to the V/H/S series, which means it will be an anthology.
Yeah, I just got my years wrong
First A24 does The Backrooms, then SCP. What’s next? Creepypasta? I doubt it’s realistic, but I’m hoping for Zalgo.
