Critics Consensus
Packing unforgettable scares into a sleek runtime while Austin Abrams’ crack comedic timing provides crucial levity, Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil is a propulsive tribute to the pleasure and terror of playing a truly spooky video game.

Movie was entertaining but not life changing. Resident Evil takes place in 1996, it is a slight criticism that they put the older firearms and helicopters in the film, but couldn’t make a film where the guy pulls out a cell phone every 10 minutes. Speaks a lot about our society. Last act was okay. The subtle visual references to the video games were fun nods. The body horror was over the top.
