i want to reinstall because it had some problems

its framework 12 (2025) with 16gb ram

the disk is encrypted and the docs say you cant restore if you forget but i dont care about the files on it

can you delete everything without the password?

    If you have the password for your bios (or your bios doesn’t have a password) then you can put Linux on a USB stick and wipe the disk and install something else.

      If disks are not encrypted then he can just set a new password from chroot.
