Damn it’s amazing how nostalgic this feels.
This really was most art back then, and what was considered good.
Makes me wonder how much of the difference from then to now is due to the prevalent style evolving, versus artists simply getting better, versus the digital art software itself evolving.
AFAIK this art style came from japan. a large part of its attractiveness was the novelty.
That just changes the question to
“Why did Japanese art look like that then, and why doesn’t Japanese art look like that now?”
