The Dutch government wants to ban smartphones from schools, both during lessons and during break times, as part of an approach to protect children better online. This measure should protect them against distractions in environments where they need to concentrate, State Secretary Willemijn Aerdts of Education and Emancipation announced on Monday.
When I was in high school, my math teacher had a strict no texting policy. This was in the flip phone era.
There was one girl who was always rude and disruptive, and would openly text in front of the teacher and curse him out if he commented. He told her if she did it again then he would toss her phone out the window.
She promptly pulled out her RAZR flip phone and started texting, and he grabbed it and tossed it out the window. She had to go and find it after class. 🤣
She did get back at him later in the year though, when he was checking a message from his wife and she called it out. He then tossed his own phone out the window.
