FDR helped create the middle class to act as a buffer between capital and the working class/class solidarity. Give them a small stake in capital with the fear of potentially losing it to protect the interest of the capitalist class. That same FDR that you’re praising also locked up US citizens, and denied immigration into the US, something that I believe liberals are in an uproar with Trump doing right now.
