I think the tipping should be dealt away with. Instead something like: vehicle value, insurance cost, vehicle depreciation, maintenance, fuel costs, idle vehicle use time, “acts of god”–traffic accident delays, unexpected failures (wrong orders basically); should be factored into the pay instead of hoping for tips.
Then again none of this would exist if that was done.
I think we in a way are headed there. Bartering and trading have always been a thing, money is an exchange medium. I got tipped a few grams of coke for changing the brakes on a friends car, I didn’t ask for any money and was doing a favor lol
