FromSoft doesn’t have a say in this. I mean, they’re not making Duskbloods, a new IP, just for funzies, Sony is literally keeping Bloodborne chained up in the basement and won’t allow anyone to touch it.
My understanding is that they’ve always wanted to port it to PC since it was an incredibly successful title, but they had licensing issues with Sony thay prevent them from doing so.
In other words, don’t blame From Software, blame the suits at Sony for thinking that keeping Bloodbourne as a console exclusive forever will somehow translate to selling more Playstations.
Even though it came out on the PS4, it’s backwards compatible with the PS5. Keeping it exclusive still means that the game can sell a system if someone really wants to play it bad enough.
Of course, that probably accounts for less than 1% of people who purchase a PS5 at this point, but you and I have probably put more thought into this in this one single thread than the entire board of directors at Sony did. To them, games are transactional and old games are not worth bothering with at this point.
Nothing corpo executives do makes sense to rational human beings unless you’re only considering the next quarter, but Sony executives don’t even make sense in that particular case.
They just seem to be trying to bring down the company by making the worst possible decision at any point in time.
Maybe this will force From to bring it to
pcSteam so they can make some money off it? 🤞FromSoft doesn’t have a say in this. I mean, they’re not making Duskbloods, a new IP, just for funzies, Sony is literally keeping Bloodborne chained up in the basement and won’t allow anyone to touch it.
Can’t wait for Duskbloods. NS2 fam be feasting on games this year.

Would make a little more sense if it wasn’t still locked to a console they replaced 13 year ago and discontinued entirely 10 years ago.

See, that’s the problem right there.

That makes a lot more sense and explains a lot.
