Yeah.
I’m only torn between Jellyfin and Emby.
Emby seems to handle hardware acceleranion better without any additional setup and I find the automatic identification of my media really inconsistent between them. Sometimes I get fed up with one and move to the other and everything is automatically detected. Then as I slowly add stuff things are no longer automatically detected well. I move back to the other one and I find that lots of things aren’t automatically detected.
I’ve been on Jellyfin for several years and have never had it fail to identify anything, but then again most of my media is fairly typical/pedestrian, so maybe if you have some more niche media.
Sometimes auto identity doesn’t work on Jellyfin, but it’s not too hard to update it. You sound like you’re running a server for a family. I don’t really add often enough to sweat the occassional manual ID.
I don’t run a server for a family. I have about 7 TB of movies, TV series, and anime. It isn’t hard but one of the primary jobs is that it discovers my media, identifies it, and makes it available. When it identifies things incorrectly or doesn’t identify them at all and I see 10 of the same thing instead of one with 10 seasons it’s a bit of a nuisance.
It is still a relatively first world problem but I wish it did a better job more consistently.
Jellyfin basically only uses TMDB by default as a metadata provider. I think IMDB enshittified or something like Reddit did.
TMDB is a lot less mature than IMDB so sometimes the identification isn’t as good. It’s based on user contributions like Wikipedia. It also has “opinions” about the correct episode and season listings of TV shows, which has caused me big headaches in the past.
You can enable optional plugins in the dashboard to enable other metadata providers like TVDB and Anime DB and more. I decided to just use TMDB and go update the website myself when I notice anything wrong or missing.
Jellyfin is also much less forgiving of errors… like if you put an episode in the wrong season it will just appear broken
Purely based on your last comment on 10 seasons, it might be a problem with your folder structure. Take a look at the official documentation or trash guides if you haven’t done so already. Are you only using jellyfin or the arr stack as well?

Jellyfin, go with Jellyfin. If your find yourself switching between something open and something closed, the openness should be the tipping factor. ❤️
