Probably a noob question, but I wonder if someone has experience with that. I am looking to buy a TV and I wonder is it makes sense to buy one with decent HDR capabilities, when my plan is to watch pirated movies from my Linux device via HDMI. Is that technically possible? Is it easy?
If it matters, I am on Fedora silverblue.

Yes the ARR stack works flawlessly in docker on Linux. Paired with qbittorrent and even public trackers you can watch to your hearts content. It’s easy to find guides in your favorite search engine.
It’s important to use a VPN if you don’t want to get disconnected from your ISP.
I don’t use HDMI though I run jellyfin on the server and as a client on Roku and Xbox over the home WAN. Here’s Jellyfin HDR guide
That site is full of obvious, overwrote AI garbage, always horribly out of date, and talks absolute bollocks all the time.
Transcoding a file, even a 4k HDR one, will not peg your server at 80%+ CPU if you at least have the iq of a turnip and set up GPU transcoding. A cheap ARC card will handle several 4k streams.
This site it trying to sell you a jellyfin administrator app, it has a perverse incentive to make everything sound more complicated than it is. I hate that it comes up in Google results because it’s always shit.
“Setting up” HDR on jellyfin is just setting up jellyfin. There really isn’t much to it.
