My distro doesn’t have any OOTB tools AFAIK that does this, which is why I “need” my script and alias. That is one advantage of mint, though. Closest I have is KDE discover, but IDK how it fully works for/with updates.
It’s pretty much just a GUI for apt+flathub, way cooler that you wrote your own script though :)
