I was going to say roguelikes aren’t a gacha because you usually don’t gamble with real money in them, but buying rougelikes can be a gatcha if you don’t know if you’ll buy a good game.
We need a third dimension: Resource being used
Resource Purist - the resource gambled must be a real world currency or proxy for it
Resource Neutral - there has to be a resource being gambled
Resource Anarchist - there doesn’t have to be a resource at all

Purchasing anything in an unregulated market is a gacha.
Maybe I’m a goal anarchist, but I’d argue it’s still a gacha even if you gamble with fake money earned within the game.
