Yeah, the KMT winning the civil war would have been considerably worse. If that had happened then China would probably look like India right now.

There would also be nothing to really oppose the US… and the USSR would have collapsed faster and West might have been able to maintain control of the region after it balkanized… and progress on climate change would be halted by oil monopolies…
