This is the post on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/1myldh3/i_built_youtubarr_the_sonarr_for_youtube/
looks cool I have been wanting something like this for a while
I absolutely see why the projects are the way they are, but it really bothers me that they aren’t microservices with a single UI & DB, etc. either as vertical slice containers, or plugin packages in the same vm.
Again, I absolutely see why it isn’t, but it still makes me sad.
I’ve been using Pinchflat for a while. Its working but a bit rough.
Nice, I currently use https://github.com/jmbannon/ytdl-sub for a similar setup.
I am still looking for a tool that would capture live streams on YouTube and can automatically resume when connection problems occur. yt-dlp handles the streams well, except it often needs to be restarted for longer running streams, which requires constant attention. Does this „fire and forget“ yt-dlp or does it keep watch over it?
I like that it says they are different from projects like TubeArchivist, says “read the readme for why”, and then it doesn’t have an explanation.
I’ve been using TubeArchivist for years now and it’s been great. Solid update cadence, reliable, and I have no idea why this project is different from it
