Forcing your will onto another is the principle of a Jedi mind trick and nearly all Jedi can do it. Someone as strong with the force as Anakin could have been slowly manipulating her without ever really comprehending he did so. His subconscious wanted her as we know.
It may be one of the reasons why they aren’t supposed to have serious ongoing romantic relationships.
