Tech should be made more accesible. Having the fediverse is nice and all, but if someone was to ask me “i don’t like reddit, what do you recommend?” I can’t even introduce them to how lemmy instances work without some eyebrows being raised let alone the whole concept of the fediverse.
I tell the normies “It’s like Reddit, but anyone can make a website that runs it, and all the websites talk to each other so a corporation can never control it” and the normies say that sounds awesome
