The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) is investigating allegations that Russian hackers have stolen hundreds of sensitive military documents and published them on the dark web.

Documents reportedly contain details about eight Royal Air Force and Royal Navy bases, including RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, which hosts US Air Force F-35 jets, as well as personal information of MoD staff such as names and emails.

The contractor Dodd Group confirmed it suffered a ransomware attack in which unauthorized access was gained to parts of its internal systems. The company has taken immediate action to contain the breach and engaged a forensic IT firm to investigate further.
