    some people like harry potter and some don’t. I’m not sure why someone saying “I like it” is bad just because you deem it to be so.

    people are permitted to have differing opinions and likes and dislikes.

    but these days it seems nuance is gone. there’s only “with us or against us” even when it comes to a popular book series written for young adults.

        “I hate this.” “I like this”

        I don’t consider either of these argumentive. and I’m not sure how just saying “I like a thing” is such a huge deal.

            At no point in this conversation were they inconsiderate, you on the other hand… Your self righteousness is making you completely blind to self reflection. Take a moment and reread this thread putting aside your moral certitude and it’s clear who’s tone was inconsiderate.

            I don’t think that’s true. and you don’t know me personally. we are just two people on lemmy.

            disagreement doesn’t mean someone is inconsiderate. it just means they don’t agree with you.
