Of course, they could shut the site down, but these are execs we’re talking about - their forté is ignoring every elephant in the room and then creating “solutions” that completely miss the problem.

It’s just like email. It mostly doesnt matter what instance you choose as you can talk with almost any other instance. There are a couple instances that have been defederated from most other instances, but they are few and far between. Anyway, it’s exactly like email.

No. Find an instance that aligns with your morals and maybe something that interests you, like an lgbtq instance or a vegan instance and sign up there. As for moving instances, you can migrate your account, but it mostly just moves your subscriptions, not your comments or posts
