I work in manufacturing and run into this constantly. It’s a fuckin joke honestly. These standards should be free to access if they want people to follow them.
Right! The regulation states that you need to use standard xxx#### except standard xxx#### costs hundreds to thousands of dollars. Except the law says you need to conform to it. Except only big companies have them because the little ones can’t afford it.
Joining a University or perhaps just a university Library might be the most straightforward way to gain access although idk if i had ISO definitely remember having access to DIN though.
Especially as some laws in some countries refer to such standards. This should be illegal, or at least the country should see to get a licence for it’s citizens.
Well i assume they needed to fund the organization somehow, that pdf is probably full of info on how to achieve that standard. And since it’s PDF, goodluck paywalling ctrl + c > ctrl + v.
Why are international standards behind a paywall lmao
RFC ftw (for internet stuff at least)

But then how would we know you really mean to respect those standards? /s
I suck at recognizing sarcasm, is your reply meant sarcastically?
Ah that’s on me, no worries. I’ll add the little /s because indeed it was sarcasm.
Thanks c:
Nothing digital is really behing a paywall if you know where to look.
ISO standards are pretty hard to find

Some do come up on Annas archive though.

Paying for those just happened to become the international standard… somehow…
