I think it’s hard to use the words left or right in this discussion because it clearly means opposite things to the Tankies as it does to sensible people, and even sensible people can’t agree if it means progress towards anarchy or regulated markets.
When I see a tankie I assume they’re a high schooler who just learned what leftist politics are or a mentally ill adult who never grew out of that stage.
I try to keep an open mind about their situation but I think the majority of them are paid trolls. If you have a billion people you can afford to set some aside to troll the west online, trying to shift public opinions and create division.

I agree except I save my open mindedness for people who aren’t usually bad actors.
It’s not worth the time or erosion of sanity to give them the benefit of the doubt.
