    It’s so common there’s clearly something wrong with phones. Maybe they’re cursed?

    Over ten years ago I had to make a phone call to a foreign country to book a hotel, and my heart rate was as if I’d just sprinted somewhere

      It didn’t use to be. I’ve been making phone calls since I was a kid (more than 40 years ago) so no, I don’t think the phones themselves are the culprits.

        They’ve definitely become worse with automation stuff like menus where you have to type a lot numbers and say stupid things for 30 minutes until you finally get a human. If you forgot to mention anything you’ll never get the same person on the phone and you have to start over…
