The OpenStreetMap Ops Team has a special offer for AI companies: for a modest donation to the OpenStreetMap project, the donor company will receive a direct download link to OSM data in a machine-friendly format.
Not entirely sure it’s a good thing to be teaching ai directions atm but via donations I can understand why that was a decision.
The offers serves mainly two purposes: 1) getting money 2) avoiding DDOS downtime (see original post).
It was a joke, anyone can download all of the data for free
I think the Ops Teams is a bit funny here. Because you can already always download the whole planet file incl. history since ever. AI should use this instead of DDOSing the OSM main website.
