His baseless methods, who were proven non-efficient for treatment in studies, are what is still taught today in many psychology universities, with heavy lobbyism from Freudian-Lacanian psychologists. Some of these universities almost exclusively teach that (especially French ones).

It’s more like instead of building from the laws and mathematics that worked in Newton’s works and experiment to try to refine them and put them to the test, today’s physics had taken into account his views on theology and alchemy and taught them as is.

Except it would still be missing the part about ruining lives by being used as a practical field of medicine.

They are taught today in the same way that all obsolete theories are taught today as part of context. No one is being instructed to actively practice Seduction Theory or Cocaine Therapy. (I mean there are always quacks, I’m talking in general here).

Usually Freud is taught alongside Jung, Lacan, Rank, Stekel, Bataille, Lagache, Aulagnier, Guattari, Derrida, etc. Not as a monolithic concept.
