    I’m sure that often times “the economy” is used as an excuse for yacht money, but I don’t like the idea of pretending “the economy” doesn’t also include poor people’s grocery money.

      The “economy” just means stock prices whenever you hear politicians or news pundits talking about it. They don’t give a shit about buying groceries or affording rent, or people finding jobs. It just refers to stock portfolios and anything else is superfluous.

      The economy does include grocery money… but when a news article/show speak about the “economy” it is rich people yacht money all the time

      Eh… Poor people’s grocery money comes from wages, paid by rich people from their piles of yacht money. If the yacht money is in trouble, they will sooner cut jobs or wages than lose out on more yacht money.

      That’s the issue — the economy is yacht money.
