I recently discovered that “delete all browsing data after each session” is a Windows Group Policy setting. I discovered this after developing and deploying a feature in our webapp that uses
localStorageto store user input for crash recovery, for a particularly-long-form data entry feature.Likely, these settings and memory are based on browser cookies or local storage that is getting wiped, due to this policy.
It’s fucking insulting that they don’t just remove these options when they are disabled by the admins of your org.
Lie #1: Asks again every day
Lie #2: Doesn’t stay signed in
Lie #3: Shows the “Stay signed in?” window every time
Every. Fucking. Time.
I have to deal with UKG for work. Never keeps our shit, never stays logged in, and now it requires a code sent via SMS every time, with no other option. I just want to check my goddamn schedule!
There is just no way that forcing me through potentially vulnerable security protections everytime I engage results in a more secure environment
