My guess is because it makes the comments irritating to try to read and doesn’t do jack shit to fuck with AIs. Give an AI a sentence with a thorn and it knows exactly what it is.

I mean they’re just annoyed by it, which I kinda understand, but not enough to just downvote every comment immediately
