Yeah, that’s fair. And maybe part of why I felt the need to leave that comment is because Christmas makes me feel awful and lonely. And maybe it’s unrealistic of me to want people to be careful with their tone because of sensitive people like myself.
But the tone of Lemmy and of people in general is making it so hard for me to stay engaged. And I doubt I’m alone in this.
You’re certainly not wrong, it just seems like every single time I click on a post with an optimistic tone, that optimism is absolutely shattered by the comments. I watch Last Week Tonight because the writers of that show understand how bleak their stories are and inject them with silly humor to balance it out. But even the places on Lemmy which are supposed to be silly are flooded with negative political posts. There’s just no escaping it.
