Rainbow Six Siege goes completely offline as unknown attackers wreak havoc inside the game by giving away billions in credits and more.
Good. I bought it for the now neglected/retired singleplayer Terrorist Hunt mode - the strengh of the original series - so I can’t give a shit when their precious online-only cashcow gets fucked like this.
There was a time when the online team vs team elimination/objective gamemode was really good. Easily one of the best shooters of the format, in my opinion. That time has long passed, however.
It got so stupid with the amount of operators. It used to feel methodical and tactical, but now there’s too much chaos to each match.
Huge agreement on the operator count.
Also I could not tolerate making quick match quicker with pre-reinforced walls and pre-made rotation holes. It felt like a lot of the fun to the game came from the setup, and it was so impactful and rewarding throughout the round. They just took that away. Plus, as attacker, the setup time became so short that you sometimes barely had time to even enter the building with the drone, let alone gather any useful information or position the drone as a good camera. Just stupid. Who asked for that??
I exclusively played the “quick match” mode because competitive felt way too long and serious, and there was a strong expectation of using microphone and voice, which I am not willing to subject myself to.
Who asked for that??
If I had to guess? Children/minors who don’t like setup time.
“JuSt GeT tO tHe ShOoTiNg” just play a different game
Every shooter needs to have the features of every other shooter.
Every social media platform needs to have the features of every other platform.
Every banking app needs to offer stocks, crypto, savings, rewards points, and debit (but no checks!).
Every store needs to fill your email with advertisements.
Google search needs to serve your every request without you navigating away.
Etc. etc.
If any one company innovates, the others just take that and add it to its own collective offering.
Even Walmart is a bank now. Walmart offers crypto currency.
Eventually prediction markets will appear in most of these platforms too.
How meta.
You can think of the companies what you want, ruining it for the players is a no go to me.
Yeah, ruining play experiences by locking things behind paywalls is a terrible thing to do.
