It seems like lemmy version 0.19.5 is has a broken front end. If I enter a search query, the search button simply clears the query field and does nothing. I also cannot post using Ungoogled Chromium. I must switch to Firefox to get a functional UI.

My other lemmy accts do not have this problem but they are on servers of different versions. The stock front-end is generally very buggy off and on over the years.

Some instances also support alternate front-ends. E.g. slrpnk.net has Alexandrite and some other choices. Those 3rd party FEs are less buggy and more stable.

Anyway, I don’t expect a fix or anything. I can get around it. Just wanted to report it.
