There are reasons for optimism: vaccines and antivirals should be effective against avian influenza, and the world is far better prepared thanks to lessons learned from COVID, particularly in diagnostics and global surveillance.

That’s a very optimistic take on the lessons from COVID. Cause the lessons that I learned from political leaders was “Fuck the pandemic protections, the economy must be protected.” and “Science is wrong about everything.”

I’m sorry, you’re still being too optimistic. Protecting the economy COULD include things like “free vaccines” or “wearing masks” to keep workers from getting sick. What I learned was “don’t trust doctors or vaccines, all your body needs is Natural Immunity and veterinary medicine” is a real take shared by an alarming number of people.
