It’s amazing how people can forget it. Everything — war, criminality, economics — it’s all a distraction from the reality that the biosphere is in free fall.

Can we sacrifice the US to the gods so that only they ecologically collapse? This would be a nice little compromise.

The only takeover “AI” is doing is fucking up the economy. LLMs will never be Skynet.

That and an endless mudslide of stupid, repetitive, uncreative, unfunny, unoriginal videos that amuse only the braindead.

    You left out “corpo fiefdom”.

Cyberpunk 2077 is supposed to be a caricature (and inaccurate in some ways), but politically I feel like that’s where the world is rapidly heading. It seems to be where a lot of political leadership wants to go, and where other leadership is not sufficiently afraid of.

Me on Jan 1: It’s a new year. It can’t be as bad as 2025. I’m gonna stop drinking, and exercise, lay off the weed, and cook healthy.

USA on January 3: Invades a sovereign nation and kidnaps leader.

Me on January 3: Fuck it. Chugs from a 5th of whiskey while rolling a blunt.

    All three in succession.

The AI takeover is already underway, but the AI isn’t actually intelligent enough to be successful. So AI slop will result in economic collapse. A depression will make people feel they need to give authoritarians more power and that will result in WW3.

Would you suggest building a small Walipini greenhouse in my backyard, stocking water in stainless steel carboys, keeping seeds, salt, peppercorns, spices for trading?

AI takeover is how the bubble breaks and causes the economic collapse. Humans revolt against the machines resulting in WW3.
